Yamaha Launches Electric Start TTR50E
Yamaha Motor New Zealand has released the latest weapon in its formidable fun bike arsenal – the electric start TTR50E.

This all new model features sensational big brother looks in a compact yet technologically advanced, highly reliable package superior to other models available in this class.

A torquey 49cc four-stroke engine is fired into action by turning a key and pushing a button, features that combine with a slim engine and low seat height to simplify the first motorcycling experience.

This air cooled engine is fitted with low carbon valves to aid low speed running and is designed to prolong engine life when the throttle limiter is applied while learning. The power drives through a robust centrifugal clutch to a proven three speed gearbox, a trouble-free system developed to make the bike riding basics as easy as possible.

Maintenance-free CDI delivers a hot, reliable spark and the new machine is equipped with a compact battery to power the electrical system. This includes an electric heater for the carburettor that ensures crisp power delivery and dependable throttle response in all conditions. The starting system is designed to ensure that in the unlikely case of a flat battery, the TTR50E will bump start at walking pace.

A tough steel backbone frame supports the engine from three mounts and a lightweight, upswept exhaust system is fitted with full heat shield protection to prevent rider injury.

Upside down forks produce a class leading 96mm of travel and the rear Monocross system provides a generous 71mm. Sealed drum brakes sit in hubs laced to 10in rims which are fitted with tough four-ply tyres for excellent grip.

In addition, a host of genuine accessories from GYT-R are available to transform the TTR50E into an adult mini-bike racer by fitting stiff springs, high bars, tall seat, large pegs… and there’s even an 85cc big bore kit.

Produced by Yamaha with all the practical, convenient and desirable features you’d expect from one of the biggest motorcycle manufacturers in the world, you’d think the TTR50E would cost a small fortune. But RRP is only $1995. And each model comes with Yamaha’s fun bike 6 month unlimited parts and labour warranty.

But remember, only Yamaha builds Yamahas.
