Think awesome Yamaha features like On-Command® 2WD/4WD switching and full independent suspension are the sole domain of big bore utility models? Think again. Yamaha Grizzly 400 Auto 4x4 brings sophisticated technology and features to the 400cc category like never before.

The headliner for 2005 is the Grizzly's new independent rear suspension, just like on those other two bears, the Grizzly 660 and Grizzly 450 models. And just ike Baby Bear’s porridge, you’ll find the YFM4FA’s handling and ride performance to be juuust right.

Also new is the brand new, driveshaftmounted hydraulic rear disc brake, which, together with the large-diameter ventilated hydraulic front disc brakes, provides sure, safe, controllable stopping power, wet or dry.

Of course all Grizzly stories begin with the liquid-cooled engine, and in this case that means 401cc of liquid-cooled, SOHC, four-stroke single cylinder.

With its consistent cooling, gear-driven crankshaft balancer, semi-oval slide 33mm BSR Mikuni carburettor and high-output DC-CDI ignition, Kodiak epitomises smooth, running, smooth performing class.
